Following an action-packed opening day, the LEN European Short Course Championships dives into full flow on Thursday with another bout of mouth-watering competition.
On the second of five days of elite competition, heats in both individual and relay events kick-off proceedings ahead of an evening filled with crucial showdowns.
A mixture of sprint and endurance tests will be contested in Tollcross on December 5, and eight gold medals awarded with spots in three further finals also on the line.
The men’s 200m freestyle kick-starts the handing-out of prizes, with a host of thrills and spills sure to ensue before the day concludes with the mixed 4x50m medley relay.
Who to look out for?
The evening’s first battle will see Lithuania’s defending champion Danas Rapšys go out to retain his 200m freestyle title.
The 24-year-old is the reigning world short course silver medallist, and has pedigree in Scotland having finished second at the 2018 European Long Course Championships.
But Rapšys will likely face a stern test from home favourite Duncan Scott, who claimed bronze in Copenhagen two years ago and also finished on the podium earlier this year at the World Aquatics Championships.
Elsewhere James Wilby will be looking for maiden short course success in the men’s 200m breaststroke, while Max Litchfield – who came fourth at Rio 2016 – will be in action in the men’s 400m IM.
Georgia Davies will contest the women’s 100m backstroke, with the 29-year-old looking to better her world short course bronze in Hangzhou last year.
